To apply for a seller’s account on Indie Quill, simply fill out the submission form, and upload the necessary materials.
Indie Quill vets its sellers to make sure readers get a quality book.
But don’t worry, it’s not a scary process! We simply check to make sure the book (or book list) you’re selling is completed to the same production standards that would be found at a brick-and-mortar bookstore.
Once you fill out the online form, the submissions team will check through the book samples you’ve uploaded to make sure your product meets the site’s minimum quality standards. You’ll get an email within 48 hours indicating your submission has been received.
How does vetting work?
The vetting process evaluates the production quality of the seller’s stock, not the content. The following are the criteria:
- Has the book been professionally edited to be comprehensible and remove typos?
- Is the cover clear and professional-looking?
- Is there a copyright page?
- Are the internal pages arranged to a uniform standard?
- Are the pages numbered?
- If digital, does the file function properly on multiple devices?
What if I Pass?
If your books pass inspection, you will receive an email of congratulations indicating that your submission passed! Then, you’ll receive another email with a link and password to open an account on the site.
Then it’s time to list books for sale and attract readers!
What if I Don’t Pass?
If your book does not pass inspection, you will receive an email stating a detailed explanation of what parts did not meet expectations, and an invitation to resubmit at any time.
